I (she/her) am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts. I work with young adults, parents, and people in helping professions, while welcoming individuals from all walks of life who think my approach may be a good fit. I specialize in working with the Queer and Trans community and have extensive experience supporting people navigating trauma, anxiety, abuse, and the impacts of marginalization. I offer individual therapy as well as clinical supervision for therapists and trainees.
I believe that who we are and how we approach life—and therefore therapy—is informed by the body we live in, how the world reacts to us and the cultures that raised us. Our nervous systems, our families, our communities, and the systems we move through all shape how we learn to survive, hope, and connect. We don't exist in a vacuum, and therapy and consultation shouldn't either.
I primarily practice Narrative Therapy, a respectful, non-blaming approach that centers a person’s lived experience while we look at the stories we have been told about ourselves and we tell ourselves. In therapy, these stories can be rewritten, acknowledging your inherent dignity and bringing you closer to your hopes and values, serving as the catalyst for change.
I also incorporate somatic-based therapies where we pay attention to how our bodies have learned to react to our psychological struggles and Acceptance Commitment Therapy where we look at our relationship to our suffering and what shifts in this can open up new possibilities. I am trained in Trans and Queer affirming care and Culturally Sensitive therapy, where we look at the impact of race, culture, gender and other intersections of identity to help us find our way through problems that affirm who you are.
I bring my whole self to this work: I am queer, white, bicultural, and "barely bilingual." I am a parent, a New Englander, and a 1.5 generation immigrant who has called Metro Boston home for 20 years. These experiences deepen my understanding of power and privilege and ground my commitment to meeting you with care and accountability. In this space, conversations about racism, sexism, ableism, and other forms of oppression are not just welcome; they are essential.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and obtained my masters in Social Work from Simmons College’s (now University School of Social) in Boston, MA. I bring 16 years of clinical experience across diverse settings—community clinics and in-home, college counseling, hospitals, and private practice. I have experience directing mental health programs and have been a clinical supervisor for over 12 years. I am trained in the Ackerman Institute for the Family’s model of Reflective Group Supervision and Dr. Ken Hardy’s Supervision of Multicultural Family Therapy.
I am a deeply engaged therapist, keenly interested in sitting alongside you as we look at the landscape of your life. Clients who work well with me like that I am an active participant in the room. I am curious and don't take much for granted, helping clients to relook at taken for granted beliefs and ideas of how ‘things are supposed to be.”
